Tiny but Mighty
Do not let their small size fool you — lovebirds have the personality of a bird ten times their size. These pocket-sized parrots are bold, curious, feisty, and wonderfully affectionate with their chosen people. Their vibrant colors and entertaining antics make them a joy to watch and interact with.
Lovebirds do great as singles (with plenty of human attention) or in pairs if you want to watch their adorable bonded behaviors.
PersonalityBold, spunky, and full of energy. Lovebirds are fearless explorers who love to play, chew, and investigate everything. They bond deeply with their owners and can be surprisingly cuddly.
Noise LevelLow to moderate. They chirp and chatter throughout the day but are not screamers. Their calls are high-pitched but not particularly loud.
SizeSmall (5–7 inches). Perfect for smaller living spaces. They still need an appropriately sized cage with room to fly and play.
Lifespan10–15 years with proper care. A manageable commitment that still gives you many wonderful years together.
DietSmall pellets, quality seed mix, and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. They especially love leafy greens, apple slices, and sprouted seeds.
Best ForBird lovers with limited space, people who want a hands-on small parrot, and anyone who appreciates big personality in a small package.
